Season Four

2019 Season Four : Winding down..

We had a few days at the anchorage in Preveza (where Tood replaced another impeller in the generator),  before heading to the town quay to tie up and plug in. The price was around 45 euro for 3 nights, and a 5 euro fee for the fob for power and water. (It was 100 euro a night at the Preveza marina so that was a massive savings!)

The nice fellow was coming to finish the fridge and freezer fix, and it was much easier to be tied up rather than at anchor.

The Preveza town quay was a lively place with crowds of people, (lots of locals) walking the waterfront and dining out in the many Tavernas. It was a nice short walk for laundry and groceries too, which was a treat as It was still really hot. It seemed like a new wave of charter boats were out and about, these ones older and frequently smaller than what we had seen most of the season. One boat that came in next to us, had 7 blokes aboard from the USA. They were having a great time. Every night they stopped, tied up and enjoyed a Taverna meal..most of them also found a room for the night.

As soon as the work on the refrigeration was completed, we headed back to the anchorage at Vonitsa to get some winterizing projects done, and take a hike up to the Fort finally.

Peeking through the ramparts

Fortunately between thunder storms we had enough sun and dry days to remove the main sail, “stack pack” (the bag on the boom that holds the main sail), and jib, plus remove some of the halyards and other lines.
