Season Five

2020 SEASON 5 : Ping Ponging around Preveza

Heaps of space on the town quay in the low season!

It was another happy day when we left the Aktio dock ( hopefully for the last time!) and popped over to the town quay for a few days while the weather was calm. Although I like buzzing around in the dinghy, it’s a lot more convenient to step off the boat when I need to get some of the heavy provisioning done. Having the bonus of shore power makes it easier to freeze the meat after a stock up! Sandy kindly froze half my supplies as they were emptying out their freezer in preparation for returning to take care of things in Canada for a few months.

A cool breezy entry way..

The town quays are great fun as you are really in amongst the action! Even in the “low season” the tavernas and restaurants seemed busy, and families walked by in the evenings up until midnight. It was a treat to tie up without all the rubbing of fenders and crossed anchors, as the usual summer crowd had moved on and there was a good choice of spots.

We had an enjoyable 2 nights there and said our goodbyes to Doug and Sandy before they left.

A southerly storm was due so it was time for us to leave Preveza too. We wanted to get securely anchored in Vonitsa for a few days before the rest of the boats arrived.
