After returning from Vonitsa we had a couple of days anchored in Preveza Bay while we provisioned and waited for weather to settle. The forecasted southerly arrived, and we departed for Gaios on the Island of Paxoi, just south of Corfu. It was a lively sail in 17 to 27 knots of wind, a bit of lightning and some rain squalls. Unfortunately the main and starboard electric winches failed to show up for work, and the port winch took off by itself..a bit disconcerting as it had just had a major overhaul.
When we arrived 4.5 hours later, it was like a different day! We deployed the swimmer (me), and got our stern lines tied up to “Rat Island”. The actual name is Nisos Ay Nikolaos but there have been reports of rats boarding boats here..fortunately we only saw goats!

It was a nice start to the trip, and we slept very well…
Lively sail, that’s probably an understatement. Be safe
