The next morning we headed to the Marjan Hill Park near Old Town Split to get a bit of exercise and check out the views. The downtown Split Marina is just to the right of the picture. The Uber driver chatted to us on the way in and directed us to the best path up the hill.

After a brisk hike up, we meandered back down and stopped to check out another old stone church that was situated in a sunny clearing. Around the church you could see a combination of desert plants and evergreen’s like cypress, that grew side by side here. They are also found in coastal Montenegro and Northern Greece.

The path ended up down near the marina and a short walk to the sights of Old Town. The fish market was winding down when we arrived and there wasn’t much left to view, but we did get a jar of anchovies.
