Last season was a short but terrific cruise through the southern Croatian islands. I left off in Split, which we enjoyed.

From there we visited the island of Brac and met up with Al and Dee Dee who had wintered aboard on the same dock as us in Porto Montenegro. It was great to see them and hear all about their cruise and future plans.
We made a few more stops with some great kite sailing going south to Loviste and Korcula. Here we enjoyed a calm and beautiful anchorage opposite a monastery.
The next hop was down to the picturesque island of Mljet. The mooring balls were free with a stop at the restaurant, which was great as it was too deep to anchor securely. Wild boar and fresh fish were just a few of the local dishes on offer, and the island had some good trails to hike off any excess!

Ston was our last stop for sight seeing before clearing out in Dubrovnik. We left at 5 am and motored up the channel to the old walled city on the mountainside.
It was full summer temperatures, so we were tied to the quay by 7.30 am, and hiking up the wall by 8.30. It was supposed to open at 9am so we were happy they let us start early.

We did the hike up and over to the other town of Mali Ston, stopping to catch the views..and our breath! The trip back was via the footpath on the main road as it was already 90 F. After all the steps we were ready to find an anchorage and swim!
It was a day trip down to Dubrovnik to clear out, and we were back in Porto Montenegro the day after. By mid June the tourist season was in full swing and it was good to see the local businesses thriving again.

From here we’ll continue with 8/2022 and beyond!
Have missed your posts! Look forward to hearing about Season Seven!
