2022 SEPTEMBER…SICILY TO SOUTHERN SARDINIA

The Anchorage at Porto Giunco, Near Villasimius Sardinia

The overnight passage from Favignana in the Egadi Islands to Porto Giunco in Southern Sardinia, was pretty benign. We had good wind the first half and a friendly 2/3 moon for most of the night.

There was a fair number of boats moving between the two Italian islands, and a whole lot of traffic transiting the coast of Tunisia. This meant a lot of radio chatter throughout the night, to keep us entertained. There was one sailboat we had to change course for, which we think was hove-too and just bobbing around.

We spent 1 night in Porto Giunco, then had a lumpy, semi bash across the bay to Pula. The wind for the next few days was going to be all over the place and Pula offered protection from most directions except the East.

Pleasant Pula Anchorage When It’s Not High Season

The current plan is to get some boat jobs done here ( the fridge is playing up again, the weld broke on the nav station chair so it’s in the guest shower now, and the port engine needs the primary fuel filter changed as it didn’t want to run again…), then head for the Balearic Islands on Monday.

We’ll also start reviewing Spanish rules and regs again!
