It was a 2 night passage to Mallorca. The first night was terrific with a near-full moon and large phosphorescent globs lighting our wake. The second night was very busy with pleasure and commercial craft, hot gusty winds and clouds. It turned out that it was another red dust event, and the solar output the next morning was dismal.

We arrived in a big sandy bay near Palma, and got the hook down around 4 am, which seems to be our norm. After the usual 4 hr nap, we checked around and found no slip space was available in Palma, and decided to head North to Alcudia, where we could tie up for a few days and access the Chandlery and a welder. Yep, the Nav chair was sorely missed and our bow light went out a few hours before arriving. Todd had changed the primary fuel filter before we left Pula, so things were improved again on that front!

Alcudia was a nice surprise and we were able to accomplish all the high priority tasks. The Nav chair got welded, the bad wire to the bow light got replaced, the boat got the full scrub in and out, laundry got done, and we did a bunch of walking. This was a must after not stepping foot on land for 12 days. Even though we do body weight exercises most days on passage, if it’s rough conditions or it’s busy with boat traffic, you end up on your feet a lot, and legs and backs get tired!
We’ll head back South tomorrow, then Westerly towards mainland Spain, probably via Ibiza. More from us later!
OMG……….I snorted out my coffee when I scrolled down to the “nav chair!” Ever the inventive person Todd.
