We didn’t end up seeing The Green Cave as the queue ran from the cave entrance to the parking lot..and it was raining.
Just across the road on the downhill side, was something called “Jameos Del Agua”. We figured we would check it out as there wasn’t anyone in line. It’s possible that this was the other end of the Green Cave system.

It turned out that this lagoon was home to a unique, tiny and blind, albino “Squat Lobster” which looked like a little white crab. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munidopsis_polymorpha

“Los Jameos Del Agua” was developed as a center for art, culture, and tourism, by Cesar Manrique Cabrera. The center includes a blue pool, a 600 seat amphitheater, gardens, art installations, and the lagoon.
Cesar was a local artist, sculptor, architect, and nature activist. He was born in Arricefe in 1919, and was a proponent of high quality tourism to boost the economy of the islands…but against concrete hotel highrises. His foundation is responsible for encouraging the uniform white buildings and specific trim colours, ubiquitous to Lanzarote.
