When we left Georgetown with the good weather, we first headed to Rudder Cay. There was a sculpture there commissioned by David Copperfield that we wanted to snorkle.
The timing for slack tide was perfect, and after anchoring, we took a short dinghy ride to the dive site.

A few days later after the Pipe Creek/Thomas Cay/Staniel Cay stops, we ended up in the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park at Cambridge Cay. This offered a good hike and swims from the beach near the mooring field.

Next stop was a very short hop up to O’Briens Cay, and an epic snorkle at The Aquarium. The corals were varied and healthy, and there were many species of fish to see….admittedly, they were fed daily by the tourist boats, which kept them in the area.
The following day we left the Exuma chain and headed out to the island of Eleuthera, with Rock Sound as our destination.
The wind was flukey and light, so we motorsailed and topped up the batteries. We spent two nights in the Sound, and had a full day exploring on land.

Warren was a retired government employee turned artist, and he spent an hour telling us about the area. He then gave us some Dilly fruit to try as we were leaving.

The Dilly fruit is collected from the ground after falling off a large tree. Once ripened, it has a surprising flavor similar to Asian pear with caramel, and a poached fruit texture. Pretty yummy!
Virg & Todd,
Awesome, beautiful and lovely! Did you buy some art? Thanks for taking us on your journey. Let me know how you like the fruit. The water is so clear and bright.
Safe travels,
Christine & Steve
