Back we went to side tie at Aktio and get the mechanic “Dimitris” to assist with the generator.
It took about 3 days for the parts to arrive and for a reconnaissance visit from Dimitris. Once the fuel pump and filter were in there was at least fuel to the injectors but it still wouldn’t run. Dimitris had a suspicion that it might be related to the exhaust system and when he cracked the exhaust manifold it fired right up.
It turned out the exhaust manifold was gunked up and required a acid solution/bath to clean it. Once that got put back together the generator ran like a champ!
We collected the new “brain” and clutch which had arrived for the port winch (a fix which had turned into a complete rebuild), rebedded a leaky salon window, and put the jib on. Yah, we finally had a sail on and were starting to look like we could go somewhere!
