Season Six

2021 SEASON SIX : The Zadar Sea Organ

There was still more Southerly wind than Northerly so we decided to head on up to Zadar to check out the Sea Organ.

Sunset Razetinovac

There was a lovely little bay called Razetinovac close to Trogir that we dropped the hook in for a few days. When the conditions were optimal, we headed North to Zadar.

The day we left the anchorage was the most fun sailing we’d had in ages. We got to jibe through a race fleet and some narrow passes between islands, which was exhilarating!

Anchored Near Zadar in Prolaz Mali Zdrelac

The anchorage between the 2 islands of Otok Ugljan and Otok Pasman was shallow with all around protection and good holding. It was a nice place to land after an 8 hour day.

The next morning we had a short motor in calm water over to the Sea Organ, which was created with different lengths of pipe embedded in the sea wall. When the wave’s moved through the pipes, they created the music. As it was a calm day the volume was diminished, (and a youth rally with chanting and fireworks was underway) but we could still hear what sounded like a cross between whale song and a xylephone. Very cool!
