We had a fantastic day sail up to Dominica and set the hook in Portsmouth Harbor. On our way in, we were greeted by a cheerful Titus, one of the boat guys.

The organization called PAYS, which stands for Portsmouth Association of Yacht Services, is the first contact point here in the bay. They will help you find a mooring buoy, which was a reasonable price under 20 USD, organize tours, rental cars, take your garbage, and basically help you with whatever you need. We opted to anchor further from the crowd.

Titus Picked us Fresh Thyme, Lemongrass, Bay Leaf, Turmeric, star Fruit, and Marinda on The River Tour
It was great to see the local produce and herbs that were readily available on the hillsides. We made a darn tasty curry that night after returning to the boat!
The river tour was a good intro to Dominica, and we decided to do a day tour of the island a couple of days later.
Beautiful. More of Caribbean paradise…
